Afghanistan

The Alliance currently operates its Armchair ESL Program and Armchair Development Program in Afghanistan. In partnership with USAID’s Higher Education Project (HEP), the Alliance offers its ESL classes to Afghan women professors in universities throughout Afghanistan, including Kabul University, Kabul Education University, Badakhsan University, Herat University, Faryab University and Kunduz University.
In cooperation with UNIFEM, the Alliance offers its Armchair ESL classes to women leaders who are associated with UNIFEM's Kabul office.
The Alliance also partners with the Afghan Canadian Community Center to provide its Armchair ESL classes to women and girls in Kandahar.
